The 25th Anniversary of the Australian Fairy Tale Society was celebrated with an online storytelling event.
The theme for the celebratory concert was “Stories of Love & Light” with 6 storytellers presenting their own retellings, reimagining and creations.

I was fortunate enough to take part in the concert with my reimagining of the Arthurian legend of the doomed Lady of Shalott. My reimagining was inspired by the ballad “The Lady of Shalott” by poet Lord Alfred Tennyson in 1832.
My reimagining “The Curse of Shalott” is a tale of how Lady of Shalott might have become imprisoned in a tower, never able to know love and a certain death if she left the confines of the tower. Her tragic end is always her love for Lancelot and brightness of the Court of Camelot.
